UCT International & Refugee Students Scholarships Administration


Scholarships Administration Applications are invited for the International and Refugee Students’ Scholarships from full time Honours, Masters and Doctoral Students.A limited number of scholarships are available to graduates who are not South African. These are awarded on a competitive basis and preference is given to senior candidates.
All UCT International and Refugee Students’ Scholarships Administration are supplementary. Students who apply must have the means to fund their studies.
The Scholarships Administration are renewable for the duration of the course of study, if satisfactory progress is maintained, for one year at honours level, two at master’s level and three at doctoral level.
Scholarships Administration Applicants must apply for full-time admission through the UCT Admissions Office or the Faculty Office. Late applications are not accepted.

Postdoctoral Position Scholarship Administration in Vascular Biology


The Scholarship Administration main goal of the laboratory is to characterize the functional properties of perivascular mural cells in development, normal physiology, inflammation, diabetic retinopathy and cancer. We study the regulation of selective transport of molecules between blood and tissue in physiology and disease.

The
Scholarship Administration work includes the isolation and study of embryonic stem (ES) and genetic manipulation of such cells. In addition, a number of transgenic organisms by ex vivo and in vivo imaging of the vascular system will be analyzed.

Qualification

To qualify, candidates must hold a doctorate or a foreign degree as equivalent to a doctorate in the field of molecular biology, biotechnology / engineering or similar.

Previous successful experience in molecular cloning (BAC), tissue culture, work and advanced microscopy in vivo is an advantage. Laboratory experience outside of Sweden is considered a strong performance.

The Scholarship Administration candidate should be self-motivated, have good communication skills and ability to interact effectively and work productively in a team. Fluency in English is a requirement.

Scholarship Administration Applicants who have completed their degree no more than three years before the last date for applications should be given priority. Candidates who have completed their degree earlier than this should receive equal priority if special grounds exist.

Postgraduates who have yet to graduate may apply if their public defense is scheduled to take place within three months after the application deadline, in which case verification from the Dissertation Committee or equivalent body must be submitted with the application.

Victoria PhD Submission Scholarships Administration

The full-time or half-time enrolled, Victoria PhD candidates who fully concentration upon their studies, to bring their research to a successful completion can apply for this scholarship.The amount of scholarship will be $5,000 living stipend per three-month period of tenure, and an enrolment fee contribution of $1,000.
All Victoria PhD candidates, full-time or half-time, who are not currently recipients of a Victoria PhD Scholarship, a Jacob Joseph Scholarship, or any other award paying a living stipend are eligible to apply.
Half-time candidates must change their enrolment to full-time and commit themselves exclusively to their research.
